Thats where our law falls short there is such a huge grey area in regards to mental state at the moment of a crime.
  • [guest m] : It might not have been his intention to hurt her, but you should know if you hit a baby as hard as he did, she/he would continue to cry

Tonight's Topic: Loving A Lyrical Being - The Love and Relationship Life of Artist and Musicians| Special Guest: Calandra

Saturday, 31 March 2012 15:40

Calandra...

..Who Is She? The question has been asked time and time again. So here is a little insight. She was born Calandra Elmaria Donastorg, a native of St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. She began showing signs of being a star at the tender age of four years old. Her ability to put words together that expressed such emotions at such a young age was brought to light by her soft tones that made everyone stand still and feel chills throughout their bodies. At the age of seven, Calandra came to New Jersey with her mother and father in which she continued to write and sing throughout her elementary and high school years. A graduate of East Orange High School and also a former Hal Jackson Talented Teen International Winner for the state of New Jersey, Calandra made it clear that her goal was to succeed in the music industry. With her sights set and at the age of seventeen, her father’s label was established for the sole purpose of making his daughter’s dream a reality.

Calandra's current release entitled "Calandra" can be heard across the air waves in the U.S. Virgin Islands thanks to Peter Ottley of WSTA Lucky 13. Calandra continues to write and sing music that she feels has meaning and gives an underground hip-hop and reggae tone flavor. Always thinking of giving back to her community, she would often lend her voice to campaigning offices, even singing at mayoral and community affairs. Calandra has received countless awards for her performances at talent shows throughout New York and Tri-State area. Calandra also performed at the first ever televised, ESPN2 Boxing event held in the U.S. Virgin Islands where she performed both the UVI and the U.S.A. National Anthem, in which she received a standing ovation. This event was sponsored by Sugar Ray Leonard and company, for which Calandra wrote a tribute song for the famed boxer. The following year she was asked to return home to the U.S. Virgin Islands to perform at a party celebrating the birthday and anniversary of Former Heavyweight Champion Riddick Bowe for which she received great reviews. In her constant push to succeed, she continues to express herself through her music in hopes that her voice reaches one of many around the globe. This young lady is definitely someone to watch out for. With so much to offer, everyone should definitely stop, look and listen because only then will they understand the TRUE beauty of an ARTIST! The Fight For Real Love - When The Love Is Not Genuine!

Join Relationship Coach Sadie tonight on the "Let's Get It On w/Relationship Coach Sadie" show. 9-10pm every Saturday on www.bks1radio.com. Tonight's topic "The Fight for Real Love" When the love is not genuine. Join the experience..........

"The Fight for Real Love"

"Romantic love has the intensity, engagement and sexual chemistry that [the 'falling in love' phase] has, minus the obsessive component."

Genuine love nurtures an empathic connection to self and other that allows both partners in a couple relationship to grow a compassionate understanding of the personal value each partner brings to their life.

A sense of one's value cannot be given by another, however. It is an inner quality that is fostered within self, a skill that must be learned, more often the hard way, if at all, throughout the course of a relationship.

This quality is a prerequisite to becoming a mature giver in your relationship. How else can a partner give one another what each most yearns - a secure shared connection with the other, in which they are also seen and valued for the unique person they are. This idea is covered by the following:

Singer Derion Hall

Derion Hall, Originally from Dayton, Ohio, was raised in a musical family... yet had no idea that singing, writing, and entertaining would ultimately be his passion. Part military brat, part go-getter, Derion was no stranger to dedication and making big moves. In his teens he discovered that he too had a god-given musical ear and aptitude for singing, performing, and writing.

In the midst of determining his life path, his urge to entertain the masses dictated his next move. Armed with his natural talent and desire, he set off to New York City to pursue his dream..becoming a major recording artist.

While making his living as a fitness model, personal trainer and gym manager, Derion spent all his spare time writing and networking. He did a few "singing competition" tv show cattle calls and quickly learned that wasn't the route he wanted to go. He then tapped long- time family friend and producer Tyrice "Tyjamz" Jones to complete his musical vision.

That collaboration has resulted in the emergence of the real Derion Hall. The singer, dancer, writer, and entertainer. A fearless vibe that will make you dance, get you right at the club, catch the ladies, and get heads noddin! Come find out what we already know. Derion Hall. #BlessedAndHumble

The Problems Insecurity Can Cause In Your Relationship

Wednesday, 25 April 2012 23:06

TONIGHT'S TOPIC- THE PROBLEMS INSECURITY CAN CAUSE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS"

Being in a relationship is far from easy. You have to put in some work,compromise, understanding and some unconditional love needs to added. Its a shame relationships don't automatically come with trust and honesty. Sometimes partners can become insecure or not trusting of their partner. Sometimes insecurities can turn into something we don't know how to deal with well or interpret as abuse. We are gonna talk about some signs to look out for if you think you have an insecure partner, friend, etc;

Special Guest: Bio - Author and Motivational Speaker Wil Townsend

Wil Townsend is a sought after motivational speaker, coach and mentor who spreads hope, love and joy with his interactive presentations throughout the U.S.A and Canada.  With his blazing quick wit and amazing stage presence, Wil delivers a high-energy message that enables women, men and youth to live up to their own personal greatness which in turn makes it possible to have healthy, loving relationships.

He first realized his calling in the 90's when he was touring the nation with the R&B sensation Asante, (signed with Columbia Records),  and experienced first hand the depths to which women will lower themselves to catch the eye of a man.  His momentary "star status" and connections to giant producers such as Denny Foster and Tommy McElroy, the creator of En Vogue, made him the focus of many women.  Although he admits he had his fun, he realized on some level that something needed to be done!

Even after he retired from the music industry it was quite apparent that women in general would willingly subject themselves to demoralizing behavior from men. Through his own experiences and others, he realized that people everywhere are in search of love and will go to great lengths to get it and/or keep it.  Unfortunately, "many are willing to sell themselves short in order to get what they think they want."  By compromising their morals and beliefs, people have lost an integral part of themselves that will result in unhappiness in the long-run.

Wil has interviewed hundreds of men and tells it how it is from a man's point of view.   He goes into depth about men and women's needs and desires and also points out the game, the pitfalls and the red flags that women should be on the lookout for.  His powerful message implores women to take back their power and respect by taking the proper steps in setting a strong foundation; which in turn creates positive energy internally and within the relationship.

How vested should you be? When you are invited to that cook-out or Wedding and you are no longer a part of that family, should you accept?  Do you get rid of photos that you Ex is a part of because the new person in your life might feel some type of way? Should you stop responding to text messages and stop accepting phone calls after the break up, remember this person is now your ex? My Baby Daddy......

My Baby Daddy......

My Baby Daddy....It's time to clear the air of just what this means. Is it derogatory, a term used for humor, or maybe even for endearment? No matter how you slice it the Baby Daddy always seems to get the left over, corner piece of cake that's all icing. The question is.... should he? Are today's society's father's all horrible, dead beats that have no passion to build healthy relationships with their children or are they completely misguided and misunderstood? Tonight from 11pm-1am chime in with the ladies of OWWHH as they discuss "Ya Baby Daddy...." Only on www.bks1radio.com
