- [cisco] : And i meant defense,
- [cisco] : Sorry >.>
- [cisco] : Agreed. Persecution would only have to plant a seed to the jury that he didnt intend to hurt the child and just make her cry and everything else would snowball from there. Thats where our law falls short there is such a huge grey area in regards to mental state at the moment of a crime.
- [guest m] : It might not have been his intention to hurt her, but you should know if you hit a baby as hard as he did, she/he would continue to cry
- [guest_5525] : I work with DYFS and they are overloaded with cases similar to this one. Our kids are lost and it is so so sad...
- [cisco] : The moment a juvenile commits such a horrendous crime, he gives up his innocence in my eyes regardless of the reason (mental, anger, etc) He is no longer considered a kid for me.
- [guest_5525] : Still no excuse for violence but the real issue is mental health with our youth.
- [cisco] : Not everyone is created equal though, and just because you are able to stop and restrain yourself, not everyone can. Some people lose all control. I agree on the disconnection.
- [guest m] : That still is no excuse
- [guest_5525] : Too many of our youth have anger and emotional issues...A lot have been children of parents on drugs.

Tonight's Topic: Loving A Lyrical Being - The Love and Relationship Life of Artist and Musicians| Special Guest: Calandra
Saturday, 31 March 2012 15:40Calandra...
..Who Is She? The question has been asked time and time again. So here is a little insight. She was born Calandra Elmaria Donastorg, a native of St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. She began showing signs of being a star at the tender age of four years old. Her ability to put words together that expressed such emotions at such a young age was brought to light by her soft tones that made everyone stand still and feel chills throughout their bodies. At the age of seven, Calandra came to New Jersey with her mother and father in which she continued to write and sing throughout her
elementary and high school years. A graduate of East Orange High School and also a former Hal Jackson Talented Teen International Winner for the state of New Jersey, Calandra made it clear that her goal was to succeed in the music industry. With her sights set and at the age of seventeen, her father’s label was established for the sole purpose of making his daughter’s dream a reality.
Calandra's current release entitled "Calandra" can be heard across the air waves in the U.S. Virgin Islands thanks to Peter Ottley of WSTA Lucky 13. Calandra continues to write and sing music that she feels has meaning and gives an underground hip-hop and reggae tone flavor. Always thinking of giving back to her community, she would often lend her voice to campaigning offices, even singing at mayoral and community affairs. Calandra has received countless awards for her performances at talent shows throughout New York and Tri-State area. Calandra also performed at the first ever televised, ESPN2 Boxing event held in the U.S. Virgin Islands where she performed both the UVI and the U.S.A. National Anthem, in which she received a standing ovation. This event was sponsored by Sugar Ray Leonard and company, for which Calandra wrote a tribute song for the famed boxer. The following year she was asked to return home to the U.S. Virgin Islands to perform at a party celebrating the birthday and anniversary of Former Heavyweight Champion Riddick Bowe for which she received great reviews. In her constant push to succeed, she continues to express herself through her music in hopes that her voice reaches one of many around the globe. This young lady is definitely someone to watch out for. With so much to offer, everyone should definitely stop, look and listen because only then will they understand the TRUE beauty of an ARTIST! Saturday, 31 December 2011 15:48
Join Relationship Coach Sadie tonight on the "Let's Get It On w/Relationship Coach Sadie" show. 9-10pm every Saturday on www.bks1radio.com. Tonight's topic "The Fight for Real Love" When the love is not genuine. Join the experience..........
"The Fight for Real Love"
"Romantic love has the intensity, engagement and sexual chemistry that [the 'falling in love' phase] has, minus the obsessive component."
Genuine love nurtures an empathic connection to self and other that allows both partners in a couple relationship to grow a compassionate understanding of the personal value each partner brings to their life.
A sense of one's value cannot be given by another, however. It is an inner quality that is fostered within self, a skill that must be learned, more often the hard way, if at all, throughout the course of a relationship.
This quality is a prerequisite to becoming a mature giver in your relationship. How else can a partner give one another what each most yearns - a secure shared connection with the other, in which they are also seen and valued for the unique person they are. This idea is covered by the following:

Living Together Before Marriage? Wise Choice or The Wrong Choice?
Friday, 04 November 2011 17:23Many couples treat marriage like they do a vehicle purchase and they try to take marriage for a test drive. Many people want to see if there are any hidden ugly secrets lurking that will create irreconcilable differences in the future.
Does cohabitating actually better your odds of lifetime commitment or does it hurt your chances at living happily ever after? Do men view living together differently than women do? Over 70 percent of couples are choosing to live together before they get engaged or married. This is a huge jump for just 20 years ago. What motivates couples to live together as husband and wife without the actual nuptials?
Tonight the Women of OWWHH explore this topic and oh yes there will be the male point of view in the house so Join us tonight live onwww.bks1radio.com
Let’s talk about it.

Live In The Vocal Booth| Being Judgemental - A State of Superior Airs or Self Hate? Artist Review| Marvin Sapp - I Win| Special Guest J. Kingdom
Sunday, 29 April 2012 11:29Artist Review: Marvin Sapp
Marvin Sapp was introduced to the gospel community by Fred Hammond as a six year member of the vocal group Commissioned. "I am a preacher - called by God - who happens to sing," is the way he defines his ministry - which was given its official blessing upon his receiving of the Doctor of Divinity Degree from Aenon Bible College and the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Friends International Christian University. Sapp’s previous releases as a solo artist are the self-titled Marvin Sapp (his solo debut for Word Records – 1996); Grace & Mercy: Live (1997); Nothing Else Matters (1999); I Believe (his 2002 Verity debut); Diary of a Psalmist (2003); Be Exalted (2005) and Thirsty (2007).
When he isn’t spreading the word of God through over 200 preaching and speaking engagements a year, Sapp ministers at The Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, where he is senior pastor. By 2012, he hopes to have built a 1,500 seat sanctuary connecting to “FLC.” His ultimate goal: to encourage Believers to elevate their level of worship and praise.

Tonight’s Topic: Being Judgmental- A State of Superior Airs or A State of Self-hate?
Have you ever encountered a person that can just point out everything you do wrong or are struggling with? Often times this person could be a friend, family member or a coworker. This individual may have a critical spirit or a genuine desire to help you improve your short comings. Whatever the reason good or bad how do you feel when they approach you? Are you able to receive the criticism? Do you see their short comings and complexly reject the whole encounter as hypocrisy. Could it be the very thing the person is trying to correct in you is the thing they despise in themselves?
Tonight the ‘Live in the Vocal Booth Team” will discusses being Judgmental and how it can effects all involved..
Special Guest: J. Kingdom (aka Pastor Michael J.T. Fisher)
J. Kingdom became the Pastor of the Greater Zion Church Family at the young age of 26! Over the years, he has become known throughout the community and abroad for his ability to reach and reform troubled youth and young adults. Mothers, fathers and the many Grandparents’s who have been left to care for their teen grand children often call upon him to help re-direct their troubled youth. Fisher has taken the once small Church in Compton from approximately 400 members to more than 4500! That’s huge in COMPTON!
The Greater Zion Church Family is located in Compton, CA and is literally nestled in between two rivalry gang territories. Fisher has experienced great success in changing/saving the lives of many of them by spending time with them, counseling, listening and providing a platform for them to express themselves through the arts. Fisher believes that there are so many young talented people who just need a platform to express their frustrations. They just want someone to hear and understand their plight and their struggles in hopes to finding a solution. And that is when Pastor Fisher does his best work, offering them the keys to a better life and a divinely intended destiny! He helps them find the “Champion” within themselves. (hence, the album title “Champion”).
In 2010, Fisher lead the Voices of Destiny, a 50+ voice choir to a highly publicized sweeping victory in the national competition of Verizon’s How Sweet the Sound Contest. People were AMAZED to find out that not only was this a group of talented young people but many of its members were reformed gang members, drug dealers, drug users, delinquent’s and high school drop outs. Many had spent time in juvenile hall or had been arrested at some point in their young lives. The win opened up doors for them that they could have never imagined and they are still riding that wave of success to date.
Some of the shows they have been featured on include: BET Celebration of Gospel, the Official Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, Pan African Film Festival, NBA All Star Gospel Brunch Children’s Mending Hearts w/Ben Affleck, DIVAS Simply Singing w/Sheryl Lee Ralph, the Today’s Show, NBC Nightly News, CNN, KTLA Black History Special, KTLA Morning News, Jet Magazine, EURweb, The Examiner.com and more.
The choir used the winnings from How Sweet the Sound to complete the first youth center in South Compton, CA and they remain extremely active in the community helping to rescue other youth’s and young adults from their toxic environments. They offer tutoring, counseling, STD testing and a place to belong with a large family that cares about every area of their lives!

My Baby Daddy......
Friday, 02 March 2012 18:53My Baby Daddy....It's time to clear the air of just what this means. Is it derogatory, a term used for humor, or maybe even for endearment? No matter how you slice it the Baby Daddy always seems to get the left over, corner piece of cake that's all icing. The question is.... should he? Are today's society's father's all horrible, dead beats that have no passion to build healthy relationships with their children or are they completely misguided and misunderstood? Tonight from 11pm-1am chime in with the ladies of OWWHH as they discuss "Ya Baby Daddy...." Only on www.bks1radio.com
